TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A Tallahassee man who used using threats of violence to rape and molest a young child for years will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Correll Johnson, 57, was found guilty at trial of two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and two counts of sexual battery on child under 12 years of age on Wednesday. He has been sentenced to life in prison.

According to court documents, Johnson began to sexually abuse a female child when she was around 5 years old. Investigators say he threatened to kill the child if she told and used the child's fear to continually sexually abuse the child over the course of four years.

The child recounted at least four incidents where Johnson sexually abused her.

A jury returned a guilty verdict on all counts for Johnson on Wednesday.
