ST. MARKS, Fla. (WTXL) — A Tallahassee man is dead after a boating accident on St. Marks River over the weekend.
The Florida Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) says the boating accident happened on Saturday at around 2 p.m.on the St. Marks River.
Officials say four people from Tallahassee were traveling north on the St. Marks River on a 17.5-foot Aquasport when an unexpected turn caused all four men to be thrown off the boat.
As a result, 22-year-old Heath Bohannon was hit by the boat and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead by Wakulla County EMS.
FWC says Bohannon wasn't driving the boat at the time of the accident.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
