TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A man is facing felony child sex charges in Gadsden County after investigators found him with a 14-year-old child inside a car parked at the Motel 6 in Tallahassee.

Investigators arrested 22-year-old De’Shavion Reshard Jackson Feb. 5 on a warrant for lewd or lascivious battery with a minor under age 16.

According to the arrest warrant, the sexual abuse occurred on multiple occasions between late 2018 through 2019.

On the afternoon of Dec. 5 ,2019, Tallahassee Police officers approached a vehicle in the parking lot of the Motel 6 on Monroe Street. Three people, including a 14-year-old girl, were reportedly doing drugs in the vehicle.

Officers detained the child after discovering active pick-up order for her arrest, at which point she told investigators she had a sexual relationship with Jackson, who was sitting in the backseat of the car.

Jackson told investigators he had just met the victim and believed her to be 12 or 13 years old based on appearance; but also said the victim's sister told him the child was of legal age.

He later admitted to investigators that he received "a lot" of oral sex from the victim and engaged in intercourse twice. Jackson also said all acts occurred at the victim's residence in Gadsden County. The arrest report also stated, "the child victim's mother identified Jackson as her boyfriend."

Jackson was charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery and is being held on $150,000 bond at the Leon County Jail.
