TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — With Florida slowly opening back up, a few people are catching flight, but not many.
A few dozen cars parked at Tallahassee International Airport but not a lot of people coming and going.
Jim Durwin, the Deputy Director of Aviation says, most people who are leaving are headed to big hubs like Atlanta and Dallas-Forth Worth.
"There's not a lot of commercial passengers coming through at this time," said Durwin. "We expect that as things reopen, and businesses resume services, that we will see our commercial passenger numbers continue to increase."
Durwin adds that they had a good number of commercial flights canceled on Monday.
He also wants people to know it is safe to fly and the airport along with the airlines are taking all of the precautions necessary to keep customers safe.
