TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Hundreds gathered Saturday night in Tallahassee at the Fast Cars and Mason Jars fundraiser benefiting children who were abused and neglected.

The event is all about raising money for the organization, Tree House Tallahassee which offers emergency shelter.

The non-profit serves thousands of children by providing them with a safe home during their time of crisis.

Everything raised tonight goes toward providing a safe haven for children when they need it the most.

"The children often come in with nothing more than the clothes on their back we're able to provide them with clothing, shoes, and a bed, just the natural comforts of a home that they had been missing before that," said event chair Ashley Chaney.

Organizers say funds raised are used to care for the home where the children live.

It will also go toward buying food, clothes, and school supplies.
