TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Tallahassee firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out at a home on Tuesday night and caused an estimated $750,000 in damages
According to the Tallahassee Fire Department, the fire happened Tuesday around 8:18 p.m. 10600 block of Lake Iamonia Drive.
When crews arrived on scene they confirmed that a two-story house was fully involved with fire vented through the roof.
After they had confirmed that all residents were safe, TFD says crews entered the home to attack the fire.
When it was determined the home was compromised beyond the point of safety, firefighters exited the house and initiated an exterior, defensive attack.
Units from several local stations were able to safely extinguish the fire.
An off-duty TFD Lieutenant assisted the homeowner with evacuating the house and rescuing numerous pets from the residence.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
At this time the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
