TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Tallahassee commissioners say 2021 is about moving forward safely. Now, they're issuing guidelines on how events in the city will work this year.

Tallahassee city commissioners have unanimously approved allowing events to return to the Capital City under strict guidelines.

This involves special events, facility rentals, and indoor programming.

Guidelines will vary by event but will include limits on the number of people who can attend, mask requirements, and social distancing.

Larger events like Springtime Tallahassee and LeMoyne's Chain of Parks Art Festival, will have to submit COVID-19 Protocol plans when applying for event permits.

"We're looking for events that keep people distanced, they don't let large crowds of people go to an area at the same time," said Jeremy Matlow, the mayor pro tem. "So, they have to get creative."

Vendors looking to host their events will have to submit their plans to the commission for final approval.
