TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Community leaders got together Thursday to have a discussion about local poverty.

They talked about forging stronger neighborhoods, combating economic segregation, and delivering a higher quality of life. It was hosted by the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber says there needs to be new pathways to jobs, housing, and education to help the vulnerable citizens in our communities.

"Today's significance is to bring community stake holders in the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce to pull together to really talk about our community as one community," said Sue Dick, with the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. "And moving forward information has been shared that everyone in our community should be aware and understanding the projects that are taking place."

Some of the speakers include Talethia Edwards, the President of the Greater Bond Neighborhood, and Darrick McGhee, Vice President of Johnson and Blanton.
