TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — There is an overwhelming amount of support for interim Florida State head football coach Odell Haggins.
There are shirts and even drinks bearing his name.
Haggins is the talk of the town and it’s not just fans supporting him, local businesses are as well.
It’s no secret many fans are hoping Coach Odell is the key to turn the football program around. On Friday, we spoke with some businesses who are showing support through their product.
For Ragz Screen Printing it’s a T-Shirt and for Madison Social, a Powerade mimosa. Both carrying the name of two time interim Head Coach Odell Haggins.
Ragz owner says it was a great opportunity to give hope to fans and Madison Social says their drink compliments Odell perfectly.
"Well the obvious reason is there’s and opportunity here because Florida State fans have something to be hopeful for," said Mike Rupp owner of Ragz Screen Printing and T-Shirts. "And so their quite excited plus Coach Haggins is a very popular man with both the fans and the players."
"We had the idea you know nothing more FSU than Odell and Powerade, so why not do what we do best, mimosas, and decided to go with Powerade mimosas this Saturday for the game," said Eric Pounders, marketing director for the Table Tallahassee.
The Powerade Mimosas at Madison Social are a nod to a popular story about Coach Haggins knocking a Gatorade out of an intern's hands, telling him “this is FSU -- go grab a Powerade.”
Ragz Screen Printing notes that they sell the shirts to vendors so you will not be able to get one directly from them, but some Garnet and Gold stores still have them.
Also Madison Social is partnering up with Proof Brewing Company with more Odell products.
