TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A local artist has created a petition in efforts to get the City of Tallahassee to cancel the annual Springtime Tallahassee Festival due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The petition states that there are multiple factors considered at risk if the festival is held.
According to the petition factors for evaluation include: likelihood for extended close personal contact, crowd density, number of travelers from high-risk areas, guests coming from unknown locations and the lack of a vaccine and limited treatment options for those who catch the virus.
The petition was started by Kollet Hardeman and is addressed to Mayor John Dailey.
As of Thursday afternoon, 17 people have signed the petition and 10 people have supported it.
Hardeman's goal is to get 100 signatures.
