SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Suwannee County Schools superintendent Ted Roush announced Tuesday that Branford and Suwannee High Schools will hold traditional, in-person graduation ceremonies at the end of May.
For baccalaureate and graduation ceremonies, only authorized personnel and participants will be allowed on the fields before, during, and after the ceremonies.
All graduates and spectators must obey social distancing guidelines and keep six feet of distance between all people at all times. Graduates will be spaced properly on the field and all spectators will need to do the same by following markings in and around the stadium area.
Social distancing guidelines and restrictions limit the number of individuals allowed in the stadiums.
Members of the Class of 2020 will be given four special identification arm bands. These arm bands will grant admission into their respective graduation ceremony. People who don't have a proper arm band for the specific event will be denied entry.
Seniors who don't need all four of their designated arm bands may also give their extras to other seniors.
Should guidelines change that allow for additional arm bands to be issued, Branford High School and Suwannee High School officials said they will make those adjustments at that time.
No groups will be allowed to gather before, during, or after any of the events related to the graduations on school board property.
In keeping with COVID-19 concerns, and in consultation with the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office, Suwannee County Department of Health, and Phase 1 of the Governor’s Reopening Plan, baccalaureate and graduation plans are as follows:
- May 27, 2020 (Wednesday) Suwannee High School Baccalaureate 8:00 p.m. Paul Langford Stadium

- May 30, 2020 (Saturday) Suwannee High School Graduation 8:00 p.m. Paul Langford Stadium
Graduation ceremonies for Riveroak Technical College are to be determined.
