TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A Leon County man has been arrested after deputies say he broke into a home on Ida Road, stealing a rifle and bow.
According to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence in the 8100 block of Ida Road about a theft on December 7.
The victim told deputies he returned home from work to find his back door unlocked.
According to the report, the victim noticed things were out of place, and noted that two long rifles and a compound bow were missing.
The victim later learned a witness saw 25-year-old Christopher White arrive at and enter the victim's home earlier in the day, driving an older model white truck.
LSCO said an investigation led deputies to a home, where they found a truck that matched the witness’ description and confirmed White was inside.
Deputies also learned White borrowed the truck from an acquaintance earlier in the day and returned with a rifle and a bow.
Deputies found a stolen rifle, a bow, and ammunition inside White's home.
White later told deputies he took the stolen rifle and bow from the victim's house for hunting purposes.
White was arrested and charged with armed burglary of a dwelling or structure, two counts of grand theft of a firearm, grand theft of a dwelling of more than $750 and petit theft.
LCSO said White was also wanted on outstanding warrants related to another armed burglary, at least two other burglaries, and the theft of a firearm. He is currently in the Leon County Detention Facility on a $12,500 bond.
