Suspect in fatal shooting arrested after manhunt in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — A manhunt has led to the arrest of a suspect who deputies say shot and killed one person and injured another in Franklin County on Sunday.

According to Franklin County Sheriff's Office, authorities received a call about a shooting at 303 23rd Street on Sunday night.

Franklin County deputies and the Apalachicola Police Department responded to the scene.

Deputies say the suspect Michael Baucham, had shot and killed one victim and injured a second one.

After the shooting, Baucham ran away from the scene and was later seen driving a black Mazda near the area.

Deputies pursued a manhunt on Baucham which eventually led Apalachicola police to arresting him during a traffic stop.

This was a joint investigation by Apalachicola Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and FDLE is currently assisting with the crime scene.
