Students hold vigil for New Zealand attack victims

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A shooter killed 50 people and wounded dozens more at two mosques in Christ church.

Ardern is expected to unveil new gun laws in New Zealand by the end of next week.

On Tuesday night, students and the Islamic Center of Tallahassee held a solidarity vigil for those who lost their lives.

The vigil was open to all and included a discussion of Islam's narratives on unity love grief and the importance of community & vigilance.

"We as community are coming together to uplift, to support each other, to spread peace, love, and respect, and honor the people who have passed." BUTTED "There's no room for silence anymore; the Islamic community has to speak out to spread peace, we don't retaliate," said community activist, Morgan Flake.

New Zealand's Prime Minister is also ordering an investigation into the country's intelligence services.

New Zealand's police commissioner said that the gunman acted alone but may have had support from others.
