TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla.(WTXL) — Taylor County Elementary School confirms their first group of students are now being quarantined due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus.
This decision came under the recommendation of the Taylor County Health Department.
"As a school, we are doing everything we can to keep our students separated and socially distanced in order to cut down on the number of students who come in contact with one another while at school," the school wrote on Facebook.
School officials say they have a continued partnership with the DOH and the after-school community programs to ensure the safety of students remains a priority.
Moving forward, the elementary schools says they will "continue doing everything in [their] ability to serve the educational needs of students while they are home on quarantine."
Parents who have any questions are encouraged to call the school and ask to speak to one of the administrators.
