TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Saint-John's Bell Tower has a rich history in Tallahassee going back a century and it is now receiving much needed upgrade.

The tower's bells are being preserved for enhancements that are being made around the church.

The church's bricks are being stabilized they're receiving a new roof and stained glass.

Associate Rector of the church Abi Moon says she's grateful for the opportunity.

"One of my favorite parts is the gift of seeing the joy of peoples' faces as they see the progress happening, and they realize that this space will be in existence for generations to come. For their children, and children of others who've never walked inside a door of a church, to be a part of this space," said Abi Moon, an Associate Rector.

The enhancements are expected to be completed within a year.
