TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Lighthouse Children's Home is a place for teenage girls who are at risk with discipline problems at home or school or who have problems with the law.
Over the years, Springtime Tallahassee has donated tens of thousands of dollars to the Home for programs such as Adopt A Teen.
The krewes during Springtime Tallahassee can select a charity to support every year, but the Lighthouse Children's Home will always receive a portion of the benefits.
"And there's a connection directly between Springtime and the Lighthouse Children's Home because one of our founders Pete Rich donated the land that that facility is situated on," said Mike Melder, Springtime Tallahassee President.
That community work continues year-round.
