TALLAHASSEE, Fla.(WTXL) — Springtime Tallahassee, one of the biggest annual events in Tallahassee, has been canceled.

Organizers issued the following statement Thursday:

Springtime Tallahassee is very disappointed that we cannot go forward with the Festival on March 27-28 as planned, but it is in the best interest of the community as a whole and we are abiding by the Mayor’s directive that the festival has to be cancelled for those dates.

We are very sorry about this cancellation and understand the inconvenience it poses to our vendors and parade participants. We are looking for options to reschedule.

Please be patient as we are a staff of 2 and may not be able to respond to communication as quickly as you would prefer. We will respond to every query as soon as possible.

The highly anticipated celebration was scheduled to take place March 27-28. There's no word on if or when the event will be rescheduled.

The event is known to attract more than 150,000 attendees and features a wide spread of more than 200 arts, craft, boutique and food vendors from around the country.
