BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTXL) — The micro-brewery craze is coming to Bainbridge.
Very soon, the downtown square will be home to a new and local brewery.
Just over a year ago, Gallagher Dempsey and his wife bought the Fleming building in downtown Bainbridge to follow their dreams. They wanted to open a brewery.
With the help of contractors, Dempsey was able to make the building fit his needs. However, after Hurricane Michael, he and his wife were left to do a lot of the work themselves.
The community has watched as the Fleming Building transformed and many of them are excited to have a new business on the square.
Dempsey, who has brewed beer for more than 10 years, has been hard at work making his first batch of beer for his business, Southern Philosophy Brewing Company.
Southern Philosophy Brewing Company won’t serve just beer. There will also be a bar for mixed drinks, wine, and even a variety of food.
Dempsey hopes to open in late June, but an official date has not yet been announced.
