QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) — A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found dead in the parking lot of the National Guard Armory in Quincy.
Authorities released details about a deadly shooting in Quincy over the weekend Monday afternoon.
The Quincy Police Department said they were called to the National Guard Armory located at 2049 Pat Thomas Parkway around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday in response to gunshots being fired in the parking lot.
When officers arrived, they determined that a shooting had occurred as people in the nearby Klub Vibez began leaving an event at the night club to return to their cars that were parked at the National Guard Armory.
A 24-year-old man, whose identity is not being released, was found dead at the scene. Police said the man died from an apparent gunshot injury.
"Quincy Police are attempting to piece together everything that occurred and are asking for the public’s help," police wrote in the release. "There were many persons present when this shooting occurred and police need witnesses to come forward to help solve this violent crime."
