QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) — Parents and students in Gadsden County are gearing up for another school year.
People of all ages drove out to Shanks Middle School in Quincy to score some free school and health supplies.
Vendors handed out backpacks, paper, hand sanitizer, and more.
The Florida Department of Health organized this "Back to School Back to Health' drive-thru event.
"What we wanted to do was host a drive-thru health fair," said Adrian Cooksey with the Florida Department of Health in Gadsden. "We wanted to remind people how important it is to know their COVID status but also how important it is to take care of everything related to health."
A COVID-19 testing site was also set up by the event organizers.
The Florida Health Department in Gadsden is offering free immunizations and physicals to students on Thursday.
The event will be held at Shanks Middle School from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
