(WTXL) — A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for multiple counties in the Big Bend and South Georgia.
The National Weather Service says the warning will be in effect until 11:45 a.m. Thursday.
The counties impacted in South Georgia include Miller, Mitchell, Decatur, Seminole and Baker.
The watch includes Jackson County for the Big Bend.
NWS says gusts of up to 60 mph and hail are possible with this storm.
A severe thunderstorm warning is issued when either a severe thunderstorm is reported to be producing hail one inch or larger in diameter and/or winds equal or exceed 58 miles an hour. If an warning is issued, people in the affected area should seek safe shelter immediately.
