TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Second Harvest of the Big Bend hosted two food drives on Wednesday, one in Quincy and another at Tallahassee Community College.

"The work that Second Harvest does is absolutely incredible," said Marcus Nicolas, TCC associate dean of Academic Partnerships. "You know, we had a platform here at TCC to not only service our students but to service the community, and any time we can take advantage of that platform, we're here for it. In our first hour and half today, we served about 600 meals."

It's all part of their Mega-Mobile food distribution push this week.

"This is going to be the fourth drive that we have provided here in Tallahassee," said Monique Ellsworth, Second Harvest of the Big Bend, CEO. "And at the Tallahassee Mega Distribution we've been serving from anywhere between 1,100 and 1,300 families each distribution day. And it feels wonderful to be able to participate this way in our community and supplement individuals."

On Friday, they're hosting two more drives in our area, one in Tallahassee and another in Eastpoint.
