LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Second Harvest of the Big Bend will be hosting a free food distribution for all Leon County residents on Saturday, May 23.

The event will be held at Good Samaritan Network located at 2810 Sharer Road in Tallahassee, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

“This is an Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) food distribution, and therefore subject to federal guidelines requiring the food to be distributed to Leon County residents,” said Shari Hubbard, Director of Community Relations for Second Harvest of the Big Bend. “Many Leon County residents are in need of food support during this uncertain time, and we welcome them to come out on Saturday to receive a food kit.”

Second Harvest and Good Samaritan Network says they will be handing out enough food for approximately 500 Leon County families.
