TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Dozens of cars lined Central Street in Tallahassee Friday to bring home food from Second Harvest of the Big Bend and Tallahassee Urban League's food drive.

Volunteers worked through the heat to put boxes of meals into cars of families who are in need of some extra help.

The added stress of the pandemic has some saying that times are extra difficult right now.

"A lot of people don't have no food because of the pandemic," said Pamela Corey, a Tallahassee resident. "People are running out of food, money, they don't have any money to go to the grocery store. I know I don't."

The Urban League says they plan on holding food drives approximately every two weeks for the rest of the year.
