TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Second Harvest is partnering with Tallahassee Nurseries for a Meal for Meal Match Challenge.
The challenge will match up to $5,000 in food bank donations made now through November 12.
Six lucky individuals who donate will be randomly selected to win gift cards that total up to $2,000.
"What's been really remarkable is the number of businesses in our community who have partnered with us and found really creative ways to get behind our mission," said Monique Van Pelt, the CEO of Second Harvest of the Big Bend. "So, this particular event is really important because it's our first real effort here as we move into the holiday serving the communities here that are in need."
Every dollar donated to Second Harvest provides four meals for those in need.
Second Harvest's goal is to reach at least 40,000 meals for the community from this event.
