TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — As you begin to decorate for the holiday season and putting up your Christmas tree, one of the best parts is hanging up the ornaments.

If you're looking to give back to the community and find some new ornaments for your tree, one local nonprofit is helping you do just that.

Second Harvest of the Big Bend is partnering with a local Tallahassee women's clothing store called, As You Wish, for the second year in a row.

Starting this Sunday, As You Wish, will be selling ornaments to raise money for those suffering from hunger in the Big Bend.

In the As You Wish shop is a Christmas tree that will have ornaments, some of them being handmade, all to provide a meaningful impact in the Tallahassee community.

Monique Ellsworth, Chief Executive Officer for Second Harvest of the Big Bend, says that people really enjoyed this festive way to give back.

"It was wonderful. I think people really enjoyed the fact that they could go in and in the midst of traditional shopping for the holidays," said Ellsworth. "They knew like a merchant somebody that was going in to make a purchase and knew that their purchase was going to have an impact to other families in our community also."

Ellsworth also says that last year they raised over $500 with this fundraiser and they're expecting to double their sales during this holiday season.
