TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Members of the Holy Community Church once again teamed up with Second Harvest to give food to families in need.
Vehicles lined up along Bannerman Road for the food drive Friday afternoon.
Volunteers placed boxes and bags filled with canned goods and pre-made food into vehicles as they drove up to the church.
Pastor Heather Shaw-Armstrong says the church has been working with Second Harvest to distribute food to the community for years.
"We started doing mobile pantries, but then when COVID came, they said, 'OK, you have to do drive-thru,'" said Shaw-Armstrong. "So we started doing drive-thru where we just ask them to pop their trunk, and our volunteers wear gloves and masks, and we give out food to the community."
