GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. — Tackling cyberbullying in Florida, that's part of the focus of this year's Rural County Summit in Gadsden County.
Speakers highlighted the issues of violence against children. The group included school, community, and law enforcement leaders.
One of the featured speakers included Brooks Rumenik, Deputy Director of Florida Department of Education Office - Office of State Schools.
During her presentation, she offered information about resources to help with bullying, along with how adults can help kids step up to help.
"It's up to the adults. We can empower our students and we should and we can task them with standing up and stepping up, but it's our responsibility to do the hard work," said Rumenik.
During Friday's event the conference will feature presentations from local law enforcement agencies and the FBI.
