TALLAHASSEE, Fla.(WTXL) — The Florida Department of Transportation says East 5th Avenue will be closed from 6 a.m. Saturday, March 16 to 6 a.m. Monday, March 18.
According to a press release, local access will be maintained from Thomasville Road to the businesses and residences located along East 5th Avenue.
Vehicles will utilize the following detours for the temporary closure:
- Eastbound 5th Avenue traffic will be detoured north on Monroe Street, then right onto 6th Avenue to continue traveling east, or traffic can turn right at Thomasville Road to go back to 5th Avenue or the Midtown area.
- Westbound 5th Avenue traffic will be detoured south on Thomasville Road to 3rd Avenue to access North Monroe Street back up to 5th Avenue.
Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through the construction zone, and to pay attention for workers and equipment entering and exiting the work area. All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
