Rescue workers respond to small plane crash in Suwannee County

MCALPIN, Fla. (WTXL) — Authorities responded to a small plane down in Suwannee County on Wednesday evening.

The crash happened at the Little River Airpark on Higwhay 10 in McAlpin.

Suwannee County Fire Rescue responded to the call about the aircraft, a 1977 Cessna 152, single engine airplane which can carry two passengers.

Crews report the pilot was taking off when the plane lost lift and crashed into the trees at the end of the airstrip.

The crash caused an small fire that was extinguished.

There were no injuries.
