Regional unemployment rate for Big Bend counties was 4.2 percent in March

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity has announced that the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 4.2 percent for March 2020.

According to a press release, the region’s March 2020 unemployment rate was 0.1 percent higher than the region’s year ago rate of 3.2 percent and was lower to the state’s rate of 4.3 percent.

FDEO says Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 3.9 percent.

Leon County followed at 4.1 percent. Gadsden County was at 5.6 percent.

There were a total of 7,976 unemployed residents in the Capital Region.
