Quincy Police arrest suspect in attempted murder case

QUINCY, FL (WTXL) - — Authorities have arrested an attempted murder suspect connected to a shooting that occurred on Sunday in Quincy.

The Quincy Police Department with the help of the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested 33-year-old Willie Anthony, Jr Sunday night in Gretna.

Anthony has been charged with attempted murder and is being held in the Gadsden County Jail.

Police say the victim is still in Tallahassee Memorial Hospital recovering from several gunshot wounds.

Quincy Police are investigating an attempted murder after a shooting Sunday night.

Police said it happened just before 9 p.m. on the 300 block of South Key Street.

Authorities are now looking for 33-year-old Willie Anthony Jr in connection to the shooting.

Authorities said when they got to the area, they found a 27-year-old woman with several gunshot wounds. Police won't release her name because it's a domestic violence case. She's now recovering at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Anyone with information relating to Anthony Jr. is asked to contact police. Anthony Jr. is considered armed and dangerous.
