QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) — The city of Quincy met Tuesday on the 2019-2020 budget.

The meeting focused on the Fresh Start program and paying utilities for families who can't pay their own bills. At the meeting, community members also raised concerns about the city's clerk transitioning from full-time to part-time.

Mayor Keith Dowdell now says there are major developments still to come on the budget and the status of the clerk's new salary.

"Just wait until the next meeting," said Dowdell. "We'll show you how the clerk went from 20-something-thousand dollars to $60,000, illegally."

During Tuesday night's meeting, the clerk's original status of full-time employment was reinstated.

As to what her new salary will be; that will be addressed in the next meeting.
