TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Tom Brown Park is getting a new track for cyclists.

The new Pump Track addition will be one of only a couple in the Southeast region.

Tom Brown Park already has a BMX Track, but not a Pump Track.

Most tracks are made of dirt, but this will be made of asphalt, providing a smoother ride and easier maintenance.

Tallahassee is moving towards becoming a bike friendly community and with this one of a kind track being built in town, it will attract plenty of other cyclists across the country.

"We're always looking for something else to do and this is just one piece of the puzzle to make Tallahassee the best mountain biking destination that it can be. Truthfully this is the kind of features that people look for when they travel and they look for a place to visit and ride," said Jimmy Card, President of Tallahassee Mountain Association. "This is going to be great for tourism here. Like I said, it's one piece of the puzzle and it's going to bring more and more people here to ride our trails."

If you'd like to learn more about the track there is an informational meeting Friday night at the Hilaman Golf Course at 5:30 p.m.
