(WTXL) — Grady EMC is reporting over 700 power outages are impacting customers in South Georgia this morning.
According to an outage map, a total of 753 customers are without power as of 6:30 a.m Tuesday morning.
A spokesperson for Grady EMC says a tree fell on a fiber cable and made it hang down low, then a semi truck drove by and hit the low hanging fiber cable which caused the power cable to be knocked down.
Majority of the customers that are affected are in the Thomas County area.
Grady EMC says they have a crew dispatched to work the outages.
