JEFFERSON COUNTY, Fla. — A portion of I-10 eastbound in Jefferson County was closed due to possible bridge damage.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, I-10 eastbound from Exit 225 (Highway 19) was closed due to possible bridge damage.
JCSO stated the damage was caused when a piece of heavy equipment being transported on a flat bed trailer hit the underside of the bridge. There were no injuries.
The Florida Department of Transportation inspected the bridge and I-10 is back open, while the northbound lane of Highway 19 remains closed for a few more hours.
JCSO says traffic lanes are currently being diverted on Highway 19 at I-10 so please use caution in the area.
