SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — A woman is facing DUI and child neglect charges after deputies say she was caught speeding down U.S. 90 with an unrestrained young child in the front seat.

On Friday, Feb. 22, at approximately 12:45 a.m. the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office says a deputy was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle going 75 mph in a 60 mph zone on US 90.

The deputy then pulled the car over for a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, 35-year-old Colleen Amber Stone from Lake City.

While speaking with her, the deputy notice the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle. He also saw that an unrestrained young child was sitting in the front passenger seat.

Deputies say Stone was unable to successfully perform field sobriety exercises and was arrested as a result.

She was transported to the Suwannee County Jail for driving under the influence and child neglect.
