Police searching for suspect connected to FSU campus robbery

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Florida State Police Department is seeking information on a robbery that occurred on the main campus Wednesday morning.

According to FSU police, the robbery occurred in the 700 block of University Way around 9;35 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

The suspect robbed the victim who was walking on campus in the direction of West Jefferson Street.

Police say the suspect approached the victim, pushed them and snatched their cell phone from their hand.

The suspect then ran off with the phone and entered a vehicle that was driving slowly on University Way.

Officers say once the suspect entered the vehicle, the vehicle quickly fled the area.

The last known direction of travel for the vehicle was east on Jefferson Street toward Copeland Street.

Fortunately the victim was unharmed and no weapons were observed during the robbery.

Police say the suspect is described as being a black male, approximately 6’0’’, athletic build with a short afro and wearing a black shirt.

The vehicle is described as a Silver/Gray Ford, four door sedan with a Florida Tag 82285Z.
