TALLAHASSEE, Fla — A Tallahassee man is finally behind bars after police say he broke into a home and stole a loaded gun along with nearly $18,000 worth of items.

According to court documents, Tallahassee Police responded to Pasco Street in regards to a burglary that occurred on Sept. 26, 2018. Police say two victims returned from work to find that their home had been broken into.

When officers arrived on scene, they noticed a shattered glass door and it appeared that suspect had targeted multiple rooms.

The victims had an outdoor surveillance video system which captured the suspect, 22-year-old Dewayne Littles, breaking in, according to documents. Police say the Littles stole approximately $17,970 worth of items from the home.

During the burglary, documents say Littles stole a $400 loaded gun, $5,3000 worth of watches, $5,150 worth of jewelry, over $2,5000 worth of electronics, and over $100 in miscellaneous items. In addition, Littles caused approximately $4,500 worth of damages to the home during the burglary.

A day after the incident, investigators were able to get a copy of the security video from the victims and the neighbors. After obtaining the footage, officers posted Littles picture to TPD's social media pages asking the public for assistance in finding him.

Weeks later on Oct.18, police received a tip that revealed the address of where Littles lived. A few days after getting the tip, police went to the home in attempt to find Littles.

Documents say police didn't find Littles at that address but a woman did confirm his identity in photos they provided from the security footage.

After weeks of investigating, Littles was arrested and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility on Monday. He is being charged with grand theft, burglary of a dwelling, and criminal mischief.
