Police investigating weekend shooting in Gretna

GRETNA, Fla. (WTXL) — Police are searching for a suspect who they say ran up to a vehicle and fired shots at a victim over the weekend at a home in Gretna.

The Gretna Police Department says the shooting happened around 7:40 p.m. on Sunday near the 200 block of Earnest O’ Barkley Street.

Police say a suspect wearing light-colored ski mask, a black tee shirt with a red and white monogram on it, black shorts and black tennis shoes began firing several shots at another man standing near a vehicle.

During the incident, the vehicle that the victim entered was also struck several times along with two houses along Earnest O’ Barkley Street.

Police say no one was injured during the shooting.

During the investigation, GPD recovered Ring doorbell footage of the incident that shows two men walking with the shooting suspect moments before the shooting and leaving the scene with the suspect.

Witnesses told police that the suspect left in a light colored, full size truck.

The Gretna Police Department is requesting any information that may lead to the identification of the suspects.
