Police say no shots were fired in incident near Charlotte Street

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Tallahassee Police Department says no shots were fired during the incident that occurred Monday near Charlotte Street.

According to police, after the victim was transported to the hospital, doctors determined the serious injury was not related to a gunshot.

Investigators say an armed robbery did occur but after interviewing witnesses and processing the evidence, they say there was nothing indicating that gunshots were fired during the crime.

TPD says the incident continues to be actively investigated by the Violent Crimes Unit. Investigators are asking anyone with information to call them at (850) 891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.

The Tallahassee Police Department is currently investigating a shooting near the 1300 block of Charlotte Street.

At about 3:05 p.m. Monday, officers were notified of the shooting and responded to the area. Arriving officers and emergency personnel found that one victim was suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The case has been assigned to investigators with TPD's Violent Crimes Unit. At this time they are interviewing all known witnesses and processing the scene. Investigators are asking anyone with information about this case to please call them at (850) 891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.

TPD says this is currently an active investigation.
