Police: Man shot and killed during argument at Thomasville apartment complex

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) — Police are investigating after they say a man was shot and killed during an argument at a Thomasville apartment complex early Monday morning.

According to the Thomaville Police Department, the shooting occurred around 12:45 a.m. at the Villa North Apartments on Monday.

Police say they responded to Archbold Hospital after receiving reports that a victim had arrived with a gunshot wound to the chest.

During the investigation, officers were able to interview witnesses and process the scene for evidence.

Witnesses told police that two men got into an argument during a gathering in front of one of the apartments.

During the argument, the suspect shot the victim in chest then ran away from the scene.

After the shooting, police say a witness dropped the victim off to Archbold Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim was identified as 38-year-old Bryan Johnson.

Police say they have arrested a person of interest but no charges have been filed yet.

At this time, the investigation is ongoing and authorities have chosen not to release the alleged suspect's identity.
