TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Tuesday about two dozen Planned Parenthood supporters protested in the Capital City, against the recent anti-abortion laws in states like Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi.
They held a Stop the Bans rally, similar to others held Tuesday all over the country, by pro-choice groups.
Many people told WTXL that they're pushing back after 5 states signed laws to limit, or ban, abortions in 2019.
People at Tuesday's planned parenthood gathering showing extreme frustration over the heartbeat bills that make abortion illegal in almost all cases including rape and incest.
Madeline Brezin is one of them saying these bans chip away at her freedom along with everyone else's.
"It's important to me as a woman to have control of your body and have the right to make decisions in the privacy of your own space, with a healthcare professional, in keeping with your own conscience. I think that's a fundamental aspect of being a human being," said Brezin.
Brezin says she's here to stay educated on women's rights and continue to fight for them not just for her but for all women.
Florida lawmakers considered two abortion bills this year but neither of them were signed into law.
Brezin fears this isn't the end of the conversation in the sunshine state and is ready to stand up for her right to choose.
