TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare is making the holidays a little brighter for families with little ones in their neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Monday morning, TMH released pictures of NICU babies dressed as Santa's littlest helpers. The holiday outfits were created by Yamanda and Jocelyn, two members of TMH's NICU night team.
"Having a baby in the NICU can be very stressful for families, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, making the holidays feel a little less merry," TMH wrote in a statement. "Bringing the festive fun to these little "elves" and their parents is just one of the many ways our team works to normalize the NICU environment and keep families’ spirits high."
This isn't the first time the babies in the unit have been decked out in holiday gear.
Last year, babies in the NICU were dressed as festive trees, snowmen, and precious presents labeled "special delivery," and "best gift ever."
TMH is home to the region’s only NICU and high-risk labor and delivery unit.
