PERRY, Fla. (WTXL) — Deal's Famous Oyster House in Perry has temporarily closed its doors after confirming that one of its workers tested positive for the coronavirus.
The restaurant confirmed that one worker tested positive for the virus earlier this week. They say that employee has not come in contact with any of their customers within the last past week.
Although the health department said they didn't have close, for the safety of its workers and customers, the restaurant decided to close and quarantine for 14 days.
The restaurant will be implementing necessary safety measures during the period of quarantine like deep cleaning the building and performing some needed repairs.
In addition, the restaurant stated that all workers be required to get tested before they return to work.
The restaurant will be closed for sanitation and repairs until June 2.
"Thank all of ya'll for your support during these last few weeks we will keep you updated," the restaurant wrote in a message shared on social media.
