TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — This year's homecoming put 132 years of history on full display.
All week there have been events leading up to this weekend's festivities. There's been no shortage of school pride already from Florida A&M University and the weekend is just getting started.
But earlier Friday, people packed the Lawson Center for convocation. Lots of singing, playing music and cheering for the Rattlers. Converse Shoes CEO G. Scott Uzzell was the keynote speaker.
He tells us going back to his Alma Mater definitely brings out emotions.
"You know what, it's amazing. It's an amazing university. I learned so much when I was here," said Uzzell. "Sometimes you just forget about so much that you garnered from being here so it's just amazing being here."
The university suspended classes from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. so that all students could attend the ceremony.
