Pedestrian sustains life threatening injuries after being hit by car, TPD investigating

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A pedestrian suffered life threatening injuries after being hit by a car near West Pensacola and Cactus Street.

The Tallahassee Police Department and emergency responders were called to the scene at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and immediately provided medical attention for the injured pedestrian.

Due to the significance of the crash, Traffic Homicide Investigators were called to the scene and have assumed the investigation.

The pedestrian involved in the accident was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

TPD is asking motorists to avoid the area of West Pensacola Street and Cactus Street for the next several hours.

All eastbound and westbound traffic on West Pensacola Street, between Cactus Street and Dupree Street are shut down at this time.
