TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A pedestrian has been taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car near the the intersection of Pensacola Street and Cactus Street.
The Tallahassee Police Department originally said they were investigating a hit and run traffic crash near the intersection of Pensacola Street and Cactus Street. However upon further investigation, all parties involved remained on scene.
At about 3:16 p.m. Friday, TPD responded to the crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Emergency responders immediately provided medical attention to the pedestrian, who was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
Traffic Homicide Investigators have been called to the scene and have assumed the investigation.
The east bound lane on Pensacola Street is no longer closed and can resume normal traffic flow conditions.
TPD is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, but did not speak with an officer on scene, or anyone with information about the accident to please call (850) 891-4200 and ask to speak with the Traffic Homicide Unit. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
