TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Three Tallahassee businesses, who provide very different services, joined forces to support local service industry workers.

Hospitality workers across the country don't know when they'll work next.

The staff at Over Under Bar and Lounge experienced it first-hand when they had to close their doors just three weeks after opening.

Over Under Bar and Lounge in Tallahassee had been open less than a month before the coronavirus pandemic forced them to shut their doors for the foreseeable future.

Despite that, they decided to do something for their fellow industry workers, and teamed with Superior Painting and the Golf Club at Summerbrooke to host a golf tournament for the service industry.

The tournament was free for hospitality workers and gave them a chance to relax in a time of uncertainty.

"I keep telling everybody everything is day-to-day," said Gerard Lamouthe, the owner of Superior Painting and partner in Over Under Bar. "Everyday something changes and our life changes. To be able to go out there and play golf and not have to worry about anything for four hours, it'll bring us back before things got so weird!"

Over Under Bar said they have 12 employees that aren't working right now and they're confident that when they reopen, they'll come back full force.
